Imperial Palace Shutdown date

Does anyone know the date that the IP is scheduled to shut down (or am I just making the assumption that it will shut down).   It seems in my foggy mind I remember July, 2007.

With the shutdown of Stardust, IP and others (Ho, Boardwalk), will we see hotel prices go up due to fewer rooms being available?

One of my favorites, Harras Carnival Court. Hope that stays.
Yes, Vegas seems to get less and less attractive to me. Since
the last place I stayed at shutdown, Key Largo, While it had rooms for
$25-$35 a night, it offered some nice things no other place offers.
As a long time Vegas visitor, I traditionally always stayed at
a motel, visiting from Ca. As I moved up to some other casinos, I still
liked staying at motels. They can offer things a large resorts can'’t.
Here are some of the places I have stayed at, not necessarily like,
but seemed to have great deals. See how many have been shut down.
The number after is the times stayed

    Sulinda motel Approx 35
    (or Sulinda by Gaslight)
    Hacienda 4
    Imperial Palace 2
    Palace Station 1
    Gold Coast 4
    Sun Coast 1
    El Mirador motel 2
Rio 1 (paid $50 each night)
    El Rancho 1
    Boulder Palms Suites 1
    old Harras- Holiday Inn. 1
    Key Largo Quality In 3

I started going to vegas in the mid 70’s and got used to paying less
    than $20 a night. I still don’t like paying more than $50 a night. I
also had reservations at Ballys for $60 a night, but that trip fissled
out due to an injury. I traditionaly never stay at only one casino or
motel. I move around, and have even made trips to Ca. in between. Since
good deals are almost non existant on weekends, I try to work around
    that problem.

I really liked the Key Largo, I could drive in with the rental, run up
to the room, stop by the custom sandwich shop, take it to the pool,
relax, run next door to the 7-11, go back to the room, rest, drive to
one of my favorite afternoon buffets at the Gold Coast. Also get
$1 beers at the Key Largo,, then get ready for a night on the town
    anywhere I desired.

The small places are what I really liked about Vegas.
