NYE Fireworks
For the 3rd consecutive year, I’ll be heading to Vegas to ring in the new year. My question is this: Where’s the best place to watch the fireworks from? I’ve fought the crowds on the strip twice (the first time was cool, the second time annoying.)
TIA!

Theoretically the Voodoo Lounge at the Rio, though there’s no chance of mere mortals getting up there on New Year’s Eve. The top deck of the Rio garage might be attainable, but I bet that’s crowded, too. Failing that, any open space west of I-15 mid-Strip with a clear view of the hotels to the north and south.

It depends if you want to be in the middle of it all, or if you want a good view of the Strip. We’ve watched a couple of times from the parking structure of Green Valley Ranch. You get a great view of the Strip, and then you can go back inside and continue gambling or whatever.

Parking garages is general have great views of Las Vegas. We watched the NYE 2001 fireworks from the Stratosphere garage. The next NYE we got into the middle of things on the strip. While it was a fun experience, it was a one shot deal. I would have preferred watching from my room at the Orleans.
